Church Hill Boutique Lodge & Restaurant
After many months of Covid-19 lockdown and our normal winter shutdown we now look forward to reopening on the 17th of September. We face a period of tourism that is focused on our domestic market and it is a time to show kiwi’s what a wonderful place Stewart Island is.
All indications are pointing to a busy season for the Island and that is pleasing given the current situation regarding overseas visitors being unable to travel to New Zealand. In February we had made the decision to slow down restaurant activities and that has not changed. We will be catering for our lodge guests and a very limited number of visitors who are staying on the island. This will give us more scope to change up the menus and give a more intimate approach to dining.
So as opening day approaches we are readying our gardens for the spring and summer, we are preparing the kitchen and restaurant, and we await our first guests which signals the start of another season at Church Hill.
