Historic Home...sympathetically restored
McCormick House was architecturally designed and built for one of Picton's earliest Colonial settlers, Scotsman Donald McCormick. Today, this gracious Picton home has been extensively restored, sympathetically retaining its beautiful, original native rimu timber panelling, staircase and fireplaces. Featuring half an acre of private established, award winning native gardens.

The Boatshed Room
Featuring a New Zealand / Pacific theme, providing casual elegance. Sunny bay window overlooks the private native garden and petanque terrain. Luxurious queen size slat bed with 100% Egyptian cotton linen and electric blanket . Cane lounge chairs, luggage rack, ceiling fan and feature lighting.In room alarm clock radio, direct dial telephone, modem port, TV & DVD. The ensuite is fully tiled, with double size shower, heated towel rail, wall heater and hair drier. 100% cotton robes and Egyptian cotton towels. Hand made soaps and toiletries are provided for your convenience.
The Palm Room
This special room features a luxurious king size four poster bed with 100% Egyptian cotton linen.
Relax on your seagrass sun loungers or soak in your double spa bath with a glass of bubbly and enjoy native garden vistas from your private sun gallery.
The Italian marble and tiled, curved-wall ensuite has a multi-jet double shower.
The Captain's Room
Luxuriously appointed super king size bed or two super king singles.
100% Egyptian cotton linen and electric blankets are supplied.
100% cotton robes and Egyptian cotton towels.
Local hand made natural soaps and toiletries are provided for your convenience.
Relax in a large claw foot bath, set in your bedroom on a tiled pedestal, with private bush views.
Your Hosts Jeanne & Carl ....Jeanne has a background in finance as a banking executive, an invaluable asset in the daily running of McCormick House. She is also very passionate about her garden and catering to the whims of their 2 cats, 'Libby' and 'Toby'. Carl, a designer and restorer of fine furniture, loves making and restoring early New Zealand colonial furniture. Together they enjoy bush walks visiting wineries, fine dining and boating.
