The guest rooms, named after the historical stations (farms) of ‘St James’, ‘Rainbow’, & ‘Molesworth’, all have their own distinctive character and their own unique views. Retreat guests have exclusive use of the Retreat’s lounge and dining areas. Each room features original New Zealand artwork and is individually designed for comfort and sophistication.
Amuri Estate Retreat is only a 90-minute drive from Christchurch, and just 8 minutes’ drive into the alpine spa village of Hanmer Springs with many fine restaurants, shops, and outdoors activities.

King Suite - Rainbow Room
This room offers a private fully tiled barrier-free ensuite with under-floor heating and heated towel rail, bathrobes, hair-dryer, and quality toiletries, a large sumptuous king-sized bed and fine linen, free wireless broadband Internet connection, satellite television on a flat screen TV, DVD/CD player, personal control of bedroom heating/cooling, a selection of magazines, fresh fruit and pure spring water from the property, original New Zealand artwork. It is wheelchair accessible with ramp access to the outside patio.

One-Bedroom Cottage - Wallace Peak Cottage
Relax in the privacy of your own self-contained cottage, situated within the established olive grove, with separate access and spectacular views of Mt Wallace, the braided Waiau River and the Hanmer Range. The lounge offers a DVD and stereo for entertainment and is heated with a cosy log burner. Or relax and entertain outdoors with a BBQ on the patio. Guests can self-cater using the kitchenette facilities (microwave, gas hob and under-bench fridge).

Premium King Suite - St James Room

Your Hosts Chris and Lisa ....Chris and Lisa Preston share a love of the outdoors. Chris is a born and bred New Zealander, and has a business leadership background. One of his many passions is hiking NZ's many Natural Parks. Lisa comes from the USA & has lived in NZ since 1988. With a background in Sales and Marketing her real passion is people. She has extensively by land and sea, and decided to remain in New Zealand after spending 4 years exploring the Atlantic and Pacific in a vintage wooden yacht.
