Heritage & Character Inns - Boutique Accommodation New Zealand
Heritage & Character Inns of NZ was formed in 1994 in response to the explosion of Boutique Bed & Breakfast and Luxury Lodge accommodation in New Zealand.
Because such a wide range of standards, hospitality and facilities existed, we believed it was timely to introduce a high quality group of boutique accommodation properties, all dedicated to providing generous hospitality in gracious homes and memorable experiences for each guest. We established a very select group of members located in special places all around NZ. We continue to review and renew our membership, as worthy potential members appear on the accommodation scene.
Each luxury lodge is independently inspected by Qualmark, New Zealand Tourism’s Quality Assurance Programme. The traveller is thus assured of consistent quality, while enjoying the unique style, history and character of each property and host.
Heritage & Character Inns is member-run. Rather than trying to be a clever commercial agency, our purpose is to provide a window, here on our website, through which guests can find unique, luxury lodge accommodation throughout New Zealand.
Each of our luxury lodges, bed and breakfasts or character inns is personally hosted in a distinct and unique style that reflects the host’s personality and interests.
