Your Hosts Sharon and Ian ....Genuine Kiwi Hosts, Dairy farming was our life for 35 years, we previously owned and operated the Waimakariri Lodge, luxury accommodation set in the foothills of the Southern Alps, near Oxford. On moving to Akaroa and staying in the tourism business, we built a new home with sustainability foremost. Garthowen is specifically designed to cater for and pamper our guests. We have two Jack Russell dogs, Bonnie and Jessie. They are part of the family and love interacting with our guests.
