The Saltings Estate

Our charming vineyard accommodation is set in the heart of Matakana Coast Wine Country -  just forty five minutes north of Auckland. A minimum two night stay is required and three over Christmas and New year periods.  The two vineyard apartments are fully equipped , with The Bordeaux Apartment overlooking the vineyard & estuary.  The apartments are the ideal base for exploring this beautiful area.  The Bordeaux Apartment which can accommodate four adults has  a log fire for winter warmth, two super king ensuite bedrooms, a superb kitchen, lounge and dining room with large decks overlooking the vineyard and estuary.  The DVD, stereo, Sky Sports TV and free wireless internet add that extra dimension to an already perfect place to stay.  The ground level apartment called The Merlot, can accommodate two adults and has a small kitchen, lounge and dining room.  This apartment also comes with a DVD, stereo, Sky Sports TV and free wireless internet for your lap top.  A lap top is available for use in the main house on request.  Come and linger awhile with us, where everything we do is in harmony with nature.   

Nearby are restaurants, wineries, sculpture trails, beaches, Kawau Island, Saturday morning markets, Leigh Marine Reserve and Tawharenui National Park. The vineyard, olive trees and banks of lavender create a haven with a Mediterranean ambience. The vineyard which produces Bordeaux style reds and a Syrah, is cultivated using biodynamic principles which means the grapes are grown without the use of herbicides, insecticide, systemic fungicides or soluble fertilizers.
