If you're looking for luxury near Waitomo, a romantic, intimate cottage in a peaceful farm location, panoramic views, gourmet food & warm hospitality, then Kamahi Cottage is perfect.
The self-contained, colonial-style cottage is warm, light & airy - a lovely country garden surrounds the cottage and nearby homestead.
The cottage has:
- An upstairs queen bedroom with sweeping views over lush farmland and extinct volcanoes.
- A fully equipped kitchenette downstairs ideal for any extra self-catering. (You will, of course, be served a full gourmet breakfast, which is included in the tariff. Breakfast is served in the nearby homestead or delivered to you in the cottage - the choice is yours)
- A spacious modern bathroom (with complimentary toiletries, robes, slippers & bed socks)
- A dining & lounge area with sound system/CD collection, TV/DVD, mini bar, plentiful reading material and fresh flowers. A sofa-sleeper converts to a comfortable queen bed for 2 extra guests. (Children are very welcome.)
- We also offer 2 & 3 course dinners by prior request. You are most welcome to join us in the homestead dining room or have dinner delivered to the cottage for a private evening or a special celebration
Kamahi Cottage is ideally situated near a great range of North Island attractions and activities. Waitomo is 30 minutes drive, Taupo & Rotorua 2 hours and Auckland 2½ hours.

Kamahi Cottage boutique farmstay
Kamahi Cottage is available for single party bookings for up to 4 guests - children are very welcome. Your hosts at Kamahi homestead are only a short distance through the garden, but you have panoramic views, total peace & privacy in your own self-contained retreat. Extensive breakfast options are served in the homestead dining room or delivered to the cottage whenever it suits you.
Your Hosts Liz & Evan ....Liz & Evan met at university, returned to the picturesque Cowan family farm after their studies; they intended to stay for a year, but never actually left! Liz is Swiss-born, loves cooking, entertaining, garden design, reading & listening to music. She's also involved in Local Government and local community promotion. Evan is a former organic chemist, keen bagpiper, hobby astronomer & maker of fine schnapps (fruit brandy produced from our own orchard.)
