Sails Ashore "Brilliant!!!!!"
Everyone knows that I don't like B&B's; however, Iris and Peter run the best damn accommodation we've stayed in - in a long time. Nothing was a problem, from booking a table at the pub so we had somewhere to dine, to dropping us off and picking us up after. Their knowledge of the islands ( Stewart and Ulva ) and also knowing the people ( and in the case of Ulva the owners - who were so welcoming ) was second to none. The room was well appointed and clean - bed was comfy, heated floors in bathroom. Breakfast was great as was afternoon tea on arrival.

We recently stayed at Safari Lodge for 3 nights while my husband raced his car at Teratonga. ….. This is a lovely old home - restored from the ground up over many years by Trish and Ray. Each guest room is extremely comfortable and well equipped - everything you could possibly need and more. The garden is a picture and the locality is quiet yet central. The very best part though has to be the helpfulness, knowledge and generosity of the owners . I had a major issue with a damaged tyre - on a Sunday (!!) - but with Ray's help and his contacts (he knows everyone in this town) we were sorted and on our way north with the minimum of delay. They are a truly amazing couple who make Safari Lodge the star of the South. Many,many thanks for a brilliant stay and returning my makeup mirror which I left behind.

"Wonderful Stay"
Our stay at the Fletcher Lodge was wonderful. Ewa met us at the door and was so gracious - inspite of our traveling clothes and hiking shoes. The lodge was spacious and comfortable and the grounds were amazing. The view from our room (Edinburgh) was of Dunedin's DBD and harbor. Ewa made dinner reservations for us and even called a taxi so we wouldn't have to walk (and get lost!); we were able to walk back to the lodge once we got our bearings. Ewa and Keith were friendly hosts and we truly enjoyed our stay with them. The furnishings were exquisite and we felt like a lord and lady in an English manor.

"Perfectly Placed B&B"
My husband and I just stayed at Dock Bay Lodge for three nights in November. Dawn and Mark are the most gracious hosts! Our fabulous room (the Honeymoon Suite) overlooked the gardens, the golf course, and the lake. The accommodations are luxurious, with a beautiful and spacious room, sitting area and lovely bath. There is absolute quiet and privacy! The delicious breakfast was cooked to order with fresh fruit, croissants and most anything we desired. Our hosts were so helpful in planning the best use of our time in exploring the fjordlands. The Lodge is only a 5-minute drive into charming Te Anau for dinner or shopping. I highly recommend Dock Bay Lodge and would hope to return again someday!

Holly Homestead is a beautiful old home full of character and history. The smell of baking bread greeted me at the door, along with Bernie, who was a wonderful host who really went the extra mile to ensure that my stay was a pleasant one. She was very informative and made sure I didn't miss the "must sees" in the region. She also noticed that I had been overcharged and contacted the booking company immediately to get it rectified. The room was lovely with a beautiful bathroom complete with a deep claw-footed bathtub to soak in. Highly recommended!

"Wonderful"
Helen and Peter were the perfect hosts. The lodge is so comfortable. We arrived mid afternoon and left early the next morning but we all wished that we could have stayed longer. Our rooms were immaculate with very comfortable beds and great facilities. We had a glass or two of wine with our hosts who then recommended Stumpers in town for dinner - a great recommendation! We woke to clear blue skies and a great breakfast - eggs Benedict and fruit picked fresh from the garden. We would definitely highly recommend Rimu Lodge.

My wife and myself have just spent 4 nights at Dyers House celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Picture a boutique 6 star hotel with a personal butler and dedicated chef with all trappings of the use of a high spec club room only with a much more homely feel. Just love the house and views and the most wonderful hospitality money can buy. This place is a bargain for an unforgettable luxury holiday. We stayed 2 nights at Clearview Lodge prior to our return flight to Japan. The lodge located less than 10 minutes drive from Christchurch airport, so it was convenient for international tourists like us. It was a wonderful B&B. Sue and Robin were quite warm and open. They helped us arranging local tour, diner, taxi and so on. The Lodge was beautiful and quiet, surrounded by vineyard, orchard and flower garden. Sue kindly guided us around her garden telling a lot about her plants. We wish we could stay again with Sue and Robin!

We stayed our 1st 2 nights in Stoneleigh Lodge. The room was huge and the jacuzzi tub was very nice, the kids enjoyed it! Breakfast was excellent and the opportunity to get close to the alpacas was always there.

Highly recommend staying here if you are staying near/in Hanmer. Located in a quiet location just east of town with great vistas of the valley and mountains this B&B did not disappoint! We stayed two nights with Alex and Julia at Muritai Manor. A beautiful home, scrupulously clean and warm hospitality. Alex and Julia gave us great suggestions for dinners and activities for during our two day stay. Chris and Colin are most gracious hosts. The grounds and Fyffe lodge are beautiful. Our room was quiet and very well appointed. Ask Chris about hooting a wedding for one of the All Black players. She is rightly proud of it. There is much to do in Kaikoura with the whale watch topping our list. I liked that the lodge is 5K outside the village. Very quiet.

Bed of Roses "Our Third Stay"
It's just over two years since our last visit and we enjoyed our stay every bit as much as the previous times. Cliff and Louisa are superb hosts, offering help and advice without being at all intrusive. There have been many comments about the breakfasts which are delightful both in taste and the way in which the table is presented. Each morning it's a little bit different, always extremely tasteful and elegant. The gardens are beautiful and the whole ambience is one of good taste and restfulness.
